WHAT WE ARE CONVINCED ABOUT
In the Vice Presidency of the Republic of Colombia we are convinced that the political, economic and emotional empowerment of women contributes significantly to promoting economic growth and eliminating any form of violence and discrimination against them which affects or prevents their participation in full development. of the country, as well as standing out in the different fields of society, innovation, research, science, technology, and the fourth industrial revolution.
This is why the Government of Colombia has endeavored to build, for the first time, a comprehensive public policy for women's equity established in the National Development Plan "Pact for Colombia, Pact for Equity" that has been consolidated as a true State policy, under the leadership of the Vice Presidency of the Republic.
In Colombia, we understand the economic empowerment of women as a condition for the exercise of their rights and an action to prevent gender violence. It is necessary to eliminate structural barriers, contained in discriminatory laws and practices at the labor and cultural level, and encourage the participation of women in the economy.
